Help YOUNG MOTHERS in a VULNERABLE STATE in CUSCO

The coronavirus pandemic affected each and every one of us. However, characteristics such as sex and gender played an important role in the level of impact that each population experienced. Clearly, the existent power imbalance shaped the COVID-19 response. Insufficient female representation and the lack of a support system puts women at a disadvantage. Women's economic, social, and political presence is constantly dismissing. The lack of access to emergency kits, emotional support, and other assistance resources, scaled up the risks faced by women during the current health emergency. Until this date, not having enough resources to reach independence, forces many women to continue living with their aggressors.


In these difficult times, Ñañaykuna is committed to supporting women who need information and resources. With this in mind, we created "Online Families." This initiative aims to share information about hygiene practices, integral sexual education, and violence prevention strategies, as well as communication resources. Our target population is 500 families made up of vulnerable populations, such as single mothers, adolescents, and children from rural communities in Cusco.


Ñañayuna is an organization founded in 2017 in the city of Cusco. We have previously funded our initiatives with fundraising events that cannot be replicated under current circumstances and regulations (social distancing). For this reason, we have ventured to start a crowdfunding campaign as a new funding strategy. With this, we aim to expand our reach and develop more ambitious projects that will help more people.
