"Judi wants Alice Evicted!"

Donation protected
My parents, Howard and Judith Chapman, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. They have weathered many storms together over the years and have the kind of commitment it takes to face their latest challenge, Judi's breast cancer diagnosis. This site has been created to help with expenses.

Shortly before Mother's Day this year, my mom discovered a lump in her breast, and on May 12th, she learned she had breast cancer. Unable to officially stage the cancer until surgery, her doctors estimate her cancer to be between Stages I and II based on the size of her tumor. She started chemotherapy on July 1st and will receive treatments for 5 months. Surgery is likely after chemotherapy and then possible radiation.

My dad is 76 years old and has COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). He is not able to do a lot of things around the house as he gets out of breath easily. My mom has taken on a lot of the household tasks and yard maintenance over the last few years. He is helping her as best he can, but they still need additional help.

My goal is to raise enough money to help my parents hire someone to do weekly light housekeeping, yard maintenance, and help purchase gasoline for the trips back and forth to Round Rock from Bastrop. While her insurance is currently covering most of her care, we do not know what they will cover as her treatment continues and we go into surgery and possible radiation.

I thank you in advance for your support and ask you to think of Howard and Judi Chapman – or anyone you know that has undergone a cancer diagnosis – when you consider what you are able to give.

If you do not know us, we tend to use humor to work through our issues.  So in light of that, my mom named her tumor "Alice".  So when the tumor is gone she can say "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" (from the 1974 movie).  Her doctor thought this was quite humorous.  :)

Please check back for updates on my mom. My 13 year old nephew will help keep this page updated.
