Food poverty
Donation protected
As people get ready for the winter, many are worried about where to get the food they need.
During the summer, they were able to
1. Access food boxes from the USDA
2. Go to pantries
3. Use one of the many community fridges that popped up around the city
The money has run out for the USDA boxes, fridges are closing (the MMM fridge - the one we are associated with is not closing), and their unemployment benefits might run out.
Soulful has 2 initiatives
1. Food boxes. For every $30 you donate, we provide a bag of (healthy, nutritious) food to someone else. Every other week through March 2021 or we run out of funds.
2. Feed people on Christmas day. On Christmas eve, a chef will prepare microwavable meals with salad and dessert, which we will put in the fridge.
Help us help.
