Raising money for a book of life in foster care.

Hi, My name is Dylan Hodge. I have created this gofundme to write a book. It costs authors between $500 and $4,800 to publish a book. The cost of publishing depends on the services (editing, cover design, formatting, and marketing) you require, the genre and number of words of your manuscript, and your budget. From Reedsy’s 2022 data, prices range up to $2,000 for an editor and $750 for a book cover designer. So $1000 is an excellent first goal. Those who don't know much about me would be thinking, why and what is this book for? Here's a brief summary. I have been in and out of foster care my whole life with my parents addicted to ICE and having to learn to survive without the bare necessities. Having over 70 schools suspensions with over 10+ police involvements to gangs and street fights to ending up in one of the most prestigious schools on a scholarship. This book is about the trials and tribulations to a turnaround that not many saw. Knowing there are flaws in the way foster children are treated I wish to help insert knowledge within the system of how we want to be treated to how we are and what can change. I’ll talk about how I’ve changed and what it took for that to occur.

I aim to write this book by mid 2023 (I am Five Chapters In) this is to help Foster kids and Carers understand the life of a traumatised kid, and how to deal with everyday situations that we wouldn’t have dealt with before or some we have and how to manage them differently.
