Chad's going to Honduras
Olanchito is an old established town in a valley between mostly impassable mountains. There are many small and very poor mountain villages surrounding Olanchito. The infrastructure is very rough and the housing is very simple. Much of the land around Olanchito is owned by large farms/ranches and Stand Fruit (Dole).
Because of its size and central location, Olanchito is used by many USA medical/mission teams as a stage point. It has a few modern hotels but nothing fancy. The shops and grocery stores are small but have all needed supplies, just not the variety you would find in La Ceibe or the states.
During this trip we will be working to accompish 2 goals. One, put a new roof on the school in San Rafael a village just outside of Olanchito. Two, pour the concrete slab for the porch at the 3 new classrooms in Olanchito.
With your investment we can work together to make school a better place for the local children to attend.
Thank you!
