Cycling for the homeless & vulnerable

Donation protected
My name is Hannah, I've been volunteering for Anon Street Team in Norwich for a few months now. At the moment I cook bulk meals to be taken out once a month and served on the street, but a few times I've served the food myself and seen all walks of life coming to get a hot meal, after each time I've been out I've come home in tears because it's heart breaking and no matter how hard we try, it isn't enough.  Everything is up in the air at the moment, the pandemic has meant that our street friends have been put into hotels/hostels, but they still need food, probably more than ever because they are looked after better on the street! Some still remain on the streets that are thankfully being fed by fantastic grassroots groups. This housing is only temporary and I'm sure it'll be stopped as soon as possible - unfortunately. Now more than ever, Anon need funds to buy food, clothing, sleeping bags, toiletries, foil trays to serve food in and so much more. To raise funds for this amazing volunteer run charity, I'll be cycling 12k (7.4 miles) every day in May on my exercise bike, this will be 372k (230 miles). To an experienced cyclist, this would be a piece of cake (mmm cake) but an experienced cyclist I am not. I'm overweight and I'm unfit but I'm damn well determined and I know I'll achieve it to raise as much money as I can for our vulnerable friends.  Anon Street Team Norwich is a grassroots group, run solely by volunteers who give up their time to cook massive meals, donate food, donate money, collect donated food from others/supermarkets, serve the food and care for the general well-being of these people, who aren't always treated like people, on Norwich's streets.  Only a few weeks ago a homeless gentleman died in the doorway of Debenhams. This is abhorrent and senseless.  I would love to rid the streets of all homeless people, and by that I mean have them housed, clothed and fed, but it's a mammoth task. It's a start just by raising some money.  If you have any questions about the charity or why I'm doing it, please just ask. Please donate as much as you can. I know that times are hard, particularly at the moment, but things are at an all-time low for people on the streets.  EDIT - My 63 year old mum decided after a few days of me cycling, that she'd join in too! I didn't think for a minute that she'd do every single day like I did. She's out on her actual bike which I think is a lot harder than me doing it on my stationary bike! Having her support has really helped me to keep going. My sister in law has also recently got an exercise bike and has been joining in too, it's a real family effort! Thanks so much! Lots of love, Hannah x https://www.facebook.com/Anonstreettreamnorwichukhelpingthehomeless/ https://anonstreetteamnorwichuk.wordpress.com/
