Cycle from Mizen to Malin in aid of Northstar

The Boru Triathlon Club ( https://www.facebook.com/borutriclub/ ) is taking on the bold and brave challenge of cycling from Mizen Head to Malin Head.

 

Mizen Head, County Cork, is the most southerly point of mainland Ireland and Malin Head, County Donegal, is Irelands most northerly point. The team will set off on Thursday 23rd June and aim to complete the 650km journey over 4 days, finishing the trek on Sunday 26th June.

 

The team are raising much-needed funds for the Northstar Family Support Project - a community-based project in Limerick providing non-judgmental, respectful support to people over the age of 18 who are affected by and trying to cope with a family member or loved ones' substance misuse.

 

The charity does this work by providing one on one support, information, stress management, peer led support groups, access to counselling, holistic therapies, training and education, social and hobby-based initiatives, opportunities for respite, and simply providing time and space for families to speak freely without judgement. Each cyclist is kindly donating their time, and covering the cost of their own accommodation and subsistence for the journey, so that 100% of the donations go directly to Northstar Family Support Project.
