SPONSOR TEAM CURIOUS MOTION for Move The Calderdale Way - bringing joy directly to the homes of vulnerable people.
Curious Motion is a Community Interest Company that creates innovative wellbeing-focused dance and arts projects with communities in Calderdale, West Yorkshire.
Our work reflects the experiences and hopes of local people, illuminating lives and enabling joy, hope and courage to thrive.
This September we are participating in Move The Calderdale Way , a virtual team challenge from Active Calderdale that takes place from 1st – 30th September 2020.
We have a 20-strong team of amazing people who are aiming to collectively walk, dance, run, cycle or move at least 50 miles; the equivalent distance of the actual Calderdale Way footpath that encircles the borough. We won't stop at 50 miles if we get there before the end of September either!
Active Calderdale is donating £20 for each member of our team, and now we need your help! We're raising extra funds so that we can reach the most vulnerable people in our communities.
Funds raised via GoFundMe will be used specifically to help us provide more of our unique wellbeing boxes for isolated and vulnerable people - our Well and Happy boxes!
There are nearly 6 million people in the UK without access to technology or the internet, and so it's vital that non-digital wellbeing opportunities are provided to support our communities, particularly as we navigate the pandemic.
Our Well and Happy boxes are free for recipients and delivered straight to their homes. They consist of special gifts and activities focused on providing moments of joy, relaxation, and wellbeing.
We piloted 50 boxes in Elland this summer and they were hugely successful, with many more people wanting one! As we move into the Autumn and the colder months, it's vital that we can continue to provide support in people's homes.
Each box costs £10 - this covers the contents and the creation of the box itself - and we're aiming to raise £500 to provide 50 more boxes.
Your help would ensure we can continue to support vulnerable people across Calderdale, and we would be incredibly grateful.
