Curbside Iftar Program

Tax deductible
Asalamu calykum everyone!

Ramadan is fast approaching and due to the Covid-19, Masjids aren’t able to provide Iftar to those in the community that need it. In an initiative to apply the health guidelines to ensure the safety of the people while continuing Iftar service, Abubakar Youth Group will be doing Roadside Iftar Pickup. This volunteer-run program will be preparing Iftar packages that will be served outside Abubakar As-Sadique Masjid in Minneapolis during Ramadan, as long as the stay at home order is in effect. There will also be a delivery option for the elderly and vulnerable adults in our community who aren’t able to personally pick up those meals.

Our aim is to raise $16,000 to allow us to continue this service for our Muslim community who are in need of this, more now than ever. In past years, Abubakar As-Sadique Islamic Center has served Iftar close to 200 people on a daily average, mainly composed of elderly and vulnerable adults. Help us reach our goal by donating as much as you can, so we can ensure that everyone can receive a filling meal after a day of fasting and that no one goes hungry. Thank you for your contribution and please share with others so we can spread the word.

“Whoever gives iftar to one who is fasting will have a reward like his, without that detracting from the reward of the fasting person in the slightest.”
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 807; Ibn Maajah, 1746. Classed as Saheeh by Ibn Hibaan, 8/216 and by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami, 6415. )
