20th Annual Heimbecker Memorial Cup

Hello Everyone!

We are happy to announce that for the first time in two years, our annual Heimbecker cup is back! The Heimbecker cup is our annual charity hockey game that we host in honour of Joan Heimbecker. Joan was a beloved graduate student studying in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University. In 1994 Joan abruptly had her life taken from her as a result of domestic violence. We run this event to help raise money for a $1000 bursary that was established in her name. This bursary is awarded to a graduate student who embodies the outgoing spirit and leadership qualities of Joan. Additionally, extra proceeds raised at this event will be used to support local women's shelters that offer a range of services and resources needed by women to start a new safe life for themselves and their children. Any donations would be immensely appreciated!
