Cross Family Fundraiser

I am writing on behalf of a family in our community that is more comfortable giving than asking for any help.  Bob Cross and his family are Northportians and if you are lucky enough to live in our area, the chances are that you must know at least one of them.  Barbara operates Ooh La La hair salon, Bob and his son Henry are local electricians, their oldest son Daniel is an FDNY fireman and daughter Molly is a Commack EMT.  All three children are volunteer firefighters and EMTs with the Northport Fire Department and Dan is the Captain of Hook & Ladder.  Bob has also volunteered throughout the years.

Bob is currently in Huntington Hospital fighting for his life after being rushed by ambulance at the insistence of his kids on Friday June 12th.  There, he has remained in ICU, on and off a ventilator due to COPD, emphysema and pneumonia.  His heart and kidneys are so compromised that certain diagnostic tests cannot even be administered at this time.  Troponin levels are elevated and they will be testing for blockages.  

While Bob does not have COVID-19, he and his family have been financially impacted by the pandemic.  He and his wife have been unable to work for the past 3 months.  Bob has Medicare but doesn't qualify for Medicaid and the bills had been piling up before this medical event.

A donation in any amount would help ease the financial burden and pave the road ahead as he most certainly will require extensive rehabilitation once he is out of the woods medically.
