Dear Creo families,

As we come close to finishing the year and prepare for another year together, it’s important to take a moment to see the world that we find ourselves in. While there are many beautiful things we see happening within our community, it’s impossible to miss the reality of the attacks at schools and universities around the country.

While Gilbert is one of the safest cities in America and no one wants to think it would happen to us, or anywhere, we must face that possibility. Creo has a plan in place to best protect our students and staff. However, there is always more that can be done. Prevention is the best response to active threats. We continue to learn more about protection strategies and an option that our Safety Committee has found is bullet proof window treatments. Creo has received a quote outfitting the entire campus with these protective windows to best ensure the safest possible environment for every child and staff member. Our Safety Team is working on launching a Go Fund Me to help raise the $200,000 needed to add this protection to our classrooms. Creo is starting the fund with adding $50,000 toward our goal. I think it’s important for parents to see first-hand how valuable this would be. We will have the demo on video for anyone that wishes to see the product.

Creo will also be working closely with the Gilbert PD Sergeant who oversees all the School Resource Officers assigned to the public schools. The Gilbert PD trains these officers at the national and state levels on how to respond, as well as how to implement plans for preventative procedures.

A collaborative effort is needed in achieving the most secure and protective environment, without interruption to the children. Let’s work together to be proactive, not reactive; this is what has been proven to save lives.
