Help Elayne Garrick get Life Saving Surgery!

Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a rare genetic connenctive tissue disorder. Those who suffer with chronic illnesses all have a story to tell and when it comes to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome many of our stories read very much the same.
We will inevitably go through years of symptoms, money spent on numerous amounts of tests, doctors who don’t quite know what to do with you, google searches and self-advocacy, while our bodies, at a cellular level, are falling apart. Rare vascular compressions are, unfortunately, more common in those of us with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome due to the laxity of our connective tissue, although most people with EDS may not ever develope vascular compressions.
Elayne has these rare vascular compressions that are very difficult to correctly diagnose and treat in the US. There are very FEW medical professionals here who understand how these rare vascular compressions affect our EDS bodies, but see the evidence of the compressions and want to help; or others are in denial, and insurance will not pay for what she needs.
However, by the grace of the Lord, Elayne was recently introduced to German Professors Scholbach and Sandmann. They are the absolute best in the world in their field. They are THE LEADERS in diagnostic technology and surgical treatment for people with connective tissue disorders, and they can help her!
It was found that the compressions she has have led to a severely enlarged kidney and uterus, difficulty eating solid food because even her organs are smashed, blood pouring into her spinal column, etc. Because of the severity, her compressions can lead to organ failure and ultimately death.
Stephen and Elayne will be traveling to
Germany on May 22th to begin detailed testing and planning. Surgery is scheduled for May 31st.
Stephen and Elayne sold their home in 2021 and moved their family of six from Fort Worth to McKinney. They moved in with family and began building a new home very close to relatives who could help while Stephen was away at work.
This week they have had to terminate that contract because the money for a down payment is now needed to pay for treatment. Stephen has not worked the month of May because Elayne needed him home and he will be out in June during the recovery period abroad.

People are asking HOW they can help. Elayne is a loving wife, mother and beautiful friend. She is always ready to encourage and joyfully serve those around her. But because of these rare vascular compressions Elayne has been in excruciating amounts of pain on a daily basis and is in desperate need of help!
Please consider donating as they will need financial help for surgery, travel, unexpected expenses, etc. Thank you for taking the time to read and share her story. Please also pray for a successful surgery and a smooth recovery for Elayne as well as strength and peace for her husband Stephen and their four children. Thank you!
