Come home Sharon

Sharon and Houssam are expecting a baby!


Sharon and Houssam met in South Korea, where Sharon has been teaching English for the past few years. 


Houssam gave up his job to be closer to Sharon in Busan and then moved with her to Deagu. Houssam's asylum status in Korea limits his ability to find work. He has picked up some freelance work but has not been able to find steady employment. Essentially they have been living on Sharon's teacher salary for almost a year. While unemployed Houssam has stays busy making sure Sharon has dinner when she gets home, taking care of cleaning and laundry and most recently taking her to doctors appointments. 



Eventually, Houssam and Sharon would like to live in the United States; but the road to a visa, let alone citizenship, will be long and expensive. Now that a baby is on the way this process will be even harder financially, with so much more at stake.



This  is why a group of her friends here in the USA are asking you for help. Sharon is over the suggested age for giving birth and because of that there are extra medical expenses to make sure she and the baby stay safe and healthy. 

Here is what we would like to help raise money for:

Sharon's medical testing
Personal medical equipment needed during the pregnancy and after
A bed (they share a large twin!)
Labor and delivery hospital stay
Necessary baby furniture (crib, carrier, seat, etc.)
Baby disposables 
And of course some cute toys and outfits.
