Craig's campaign for ST CUTHBERT'S CARE

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read my page, I’m Craig 42, and it’s my 7th GNR, since our son Kian 12 was born I have pushed to raise money for disabled charities.

I am running for the Alan Shearer foundation again, the centre was opened by Alan after his Newcastle United testimonial, the centre offers rest bite care to disabled children and their families, it’s free to use for all and only so because of the Foundation ball and the donations it receives annually. 

For us as a family this centre is a place we can go and enjoy without being looked at because our son is different, it has a sensory area, hydrotherapy pool, cafe, music area the list is endless, without the centre in our region it would certainly be a duller place for our special kids.

And because it’s so important To us I will continue to run every year for this centre as it makes so many kids and their families smile, it’s their sanctuary.

Now a little bit about my son who inspires me on a daily basis,Kian has a rare condition ‘Wolf Hirschhorn Syndrome’ this is a chromosome disorder and can be life limiting, he struggles to show emotions at times but for those that have met Kian will know he has a ‘lads’ personality. He cannot talk but makes noises and uses sign language to communicate, he is infectious and very cheeky!!

He loves football and has a season ticket and although it’s not a fortress it once was, St James Park Is Kians ‘happy place’. I genuinely thank you if you can help, it’s so close to my heart and very close to Kian’s.

So thank you very much for helping in anyway you can, and reading our story, I’ll run as hard as I can.
