Canadians for Ukraine

Donation protected
My name is Dwight, and I am a single father of 2 girls, 17 and 18 years old, and my eldest is graduating this coming June, I am an ex-Canadian military member and have been in Policing for the last 16 years. I have watched the Russian escalation of war since before the day they decided to invade Ukraine, and it hurts my heart as I watch each day the terror, misery, and trauma that is caused by Russian forces upon the innocent Ukraine people. It is because of these daily atrocities being committed by the Russian military that I can no longer sit here and continue to read the stories and watch the videos of husbands being shot, the wives being raped, and babies being pulled out of the rubble only to die in the hands of the rescuers, so I, along with my immediate family have made the decision over the last week that I go to Ukraine and help where I can assist the most. But I cannot do this alone, I will need the help and generosity of the great Canadians that I know you are, along with all the generous people worldwide that see this request for assistance, it will be because all of us pulling together that we will help the people suffering in Ukraine. I have been in contact this last week with suppliers that provide non lethal protective gear for military and policing needs asking for their generous support, and it is my intention with these donations from you to purchase that extra gear, medical supplies, and any other items that will be needed and which cannot necessarily be obtained through those companies here for free, but be obtained before my departure, so your immediate and generous help will be most welcomed.  I would also like to add that any folks or companies reading this, that if you have actual physical items you wish to donate, that I live just outside Edmonton, Alberta and we can make arrangements to get these items, just reach out in a message.  There will also be many things that will have to be obtained from Poland or within Ukraine itself such as paying for fuel and vehicles to extract people with mobility issues, injured and having small children.   I have secured my entry into Ukraine the last week of April, and as much as I wish to take as many items as possible with me, so I can issue it immediately to the other members I will be working with along with items that will assist the Ukraine people immediately upon my arrival, I know I will not be able to afford to take all items and will prioritize.  I have secured alternate transportation for items that I cannot take with me on a sea can and for the lighter items they may be sent be airliner, this is being done through another volunteer organization that has already shipped items to Poland in this last week.  It is my intention to update everyone on progress regularly through a non descript Instagram and Twitter account (which I will be doing this coming week)as I need to be concerned for my security and the security of my family (which is why I have also not used my picture on this page, but I assure you I am a real person with honorable intentions) although I have no intention of being captured by Russian soldiers, they have made it pretty clear that the rules under the Geneva Convention will not apply to us if we are taken,  but I think it is very important to let everyone know how their funds are being used to help the Ukraine people.   I want to thank you all in advance from myself and on behalf of the Ukraine people that you will help firsthand from your generosity.  Slava Ukraini!!!!
