The doors are still shut 6 weeks later. Workers are still out of work. Businesses are still out of business. Tiny drips of stimulus are out there, but not enough to pay all the bills and put food on the table.
Unemployment totals are ridiculous and nearly impossible to process. Furloughs are rampant, and don't even add to those unemployment numbers. Rents are due again soon. Utility bills are piling up. Even if doors open again in coming weeks, income won't start flowing for weeks after that. Sleep is being lost. Stress is at an all-time high. Homelessness is not a joke.
But not everyone is hurting. Some of us are very lucky. Some of us can work from home with no interruption in pay. Let's all do this together.
