COVID19 Emergency Food for Poor Families in Africa

Please, help me to raise £5,000 to provide emergency food packages to at least, 250 poor families in Uganda and Nigeria within the next few weeks. These families are on the verge of starvation due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and local travel restrictions, which has affected the way they earn their daily living, e.g., petty trading, street hawking, menial jobs, etc. Most of them live in slums and rural areas, and struggle to eat a meal a day (see pictures and video below). My heart genuinely breaks for them.
In partnership with trusted local charities in Nigeria (the Williams Uchemba Foundation and Efficient Grace for the Hopeless Foundation) and Uganda (Hope for Street Kids & Vulnerable People Foundation), food packages containing basic food items such as rice (5 kg), beans (5 kg), garri (5 kg), palm oil/vegetable oil (1 litre), tomatoes, onions, 5 kg of maize flour (for Uganda), and clean drinking water (where urgently needed), will be provided to the most affected families.
Your generous donation will help us to provide these life saving food packages to families and children in desperate need. No amount is too small and every little counts. A little about myself
My name is Carol Ibe and I am the Founder of JR Biotek Foundation (www.jrbiotekfoundation.org). I recently completed a PhD in Plant Sciences as a Gates scholar at Newnham College, University of Cambridge, where I currently work as a postdoctoral researcher. My interest is to find more practical ways to help African nations to achieve food security.
I grew up in Nigeria and I understand what poverty and hunger look like. It breaks my heart to see people, especially children anywhere in the world, go hungry or malnourished. This was my motivation for setting up the JR Biotek Foundation, to empower Africa's next generation of scientists, so that they can develop practical solutions to alleviate hunger and malnutrition on the continent. This same passion has led me to raise money on this platform, to help and feed some of the poorest families in Africa who are badly affected by the COVID-19 lockdown measures imposed in many African nations. I want to do the little I can to help these families, especially those with children, to ensure that they do not suffer from starvation. I hope you'll support our mission.
