I have been given the amazing opportunity to partner with the Nehemiah Center for the Communications Intern position here in Nicaragua. It was a big pill for me to swallow to get to the point of fundraising, but I am finally here and I would love for your support in this next chapter of my life.
Since being in Nicaragua there has been a never ending need for flexibility. I came in thinking that I would be able to get my residency, work, and do some ministry on the side. However, that was not the case. I soon learned that I was not going to be able to get my residency in Nicaragua for 2 years and that presented many challenges for me being able to find a job, which has created problems for Carlos and I to support ourselves and the girls.
My position will be to help the Communications Coordinator update the Nehemiah Center’s social media sights, blogs, and newsletters. I will have the opportunity to travel with other coordinators working with the Nehemiah Center into their communities and take pictures and interview people who have been affected by the work that the Nehemiah Center is doing here in Nicaragua. The Nehemiah Center serves in Nicaragua connecting churches and organizations and helping them grow and advance the Kingdom here in Nicaragua. This position is open ended for how long I will be in it. The Communications Coordinator will be leaving for 5 months in May for a homestay, so the plan is for me to fill in for her while she is gone. That being said, I plan on being with the Nehemiah Center until God leads me somewhere else.
In order for me to continue in Nicaragua not only as a wife and a stepmom, but as God’s servant, Carlos and I are asking that you can support us financially and prayerfully in this new chapter. Our goal is to fundraise $500 a month to cover our extra expenses and to allow me to serve with the Nehemiah Center. On top of that, part of this fundraising will go towards a project that we have in the works. The project requires us to travel quite a bit and since we don’t have a car, transportation costs add up quickly. Any amount helps tremendously and removes a lot of financial stress. We ask that you can support us on a monthly basis, but any one time donations help as well.
