Country to Coast Run for Cystic Fibrosis
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brad and on Friday 28th March 2025 I will be running from Country to Coast. I will be starting at Goulburn and completing my run at the Flagstaff Point Lighthouse in Wollongong, clocking about 206km over a two day period.
I'm running to raise money to support local families affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis (CF) primarily affects the lungs and digestive system because of a malfunction in the exocrine system that’s responsible for producing saliva, sweat, tears and mucus. There is currently no cure, but advances in treatment and care are helping people better manage their CF.
CF is the most common, life-limiting genetic condition affecting Australians. Over 3,730 people are living with CF in Australia and 1 in 25 people carry the recessive CF gene change.
People with CF develop an abnormal amount of excessively thick and sticky mucus within the lungs, airways and the digestive system. This causes impairment of the digestive functions of the pancreas and traps bacteria in the lungs resulting in recurrent infections, leading to irreversible damage.
From birth, a person with CF undergoes constant medical treatments and physiotherapy.
Cystic Fibrosis hits close to home. I have family members who have passed away from CF, and have witnessed the devastating impact it leaves on loved ones and the community.
So how can you help?
- Donate generously to support the cause!
- Every dollar makes a difference to those who need it most.
To kick things off, I'm personally donating $1000 - so let's build on that together!
Plenty of rich tradies out there - don't be tight! Let's make a difference together!
All funds raised will go directly to The Cystic Fibrosis Goulburn & District Association.
