Volunteer Trip to Costa Rica
Donation protected
My name is Mollie Maistelman and I am a 17 year old junior in high school. I live in VA and participate in a youth group called BBYO. A huge part of BBYO is philanthropy, this being said, it has created a long lasting impact on my life. I believe that helping others is essential to living a succesful life. Taking this trip would allow me to start my volunteering at a young age, so that I can continue it as I get older. This past summer, I attended a program in Israel that had a huge aspect of community service. This inspired me to want to help people abroad in many different ways. I believe that this trip will give me a kickstart into volunteering. Mixing my Judaism with volunteer work is a huge part of this trip as well. We spend a Shabbat with the Jewish community in San Jose.
The trip description is as follows...."You'll visit Costa Rica's "alternative energy corridor" near the Miravalles Volcano in La Fortuna, where you'll spend time learning about the production of wind, solar, geothermic, and hydroelectric energy. You'll also get to live and work alongside local community members on a service project at the local school."
Here is the website for the program!
Please share with your friends and thank you if you have decided to donate, it means the world!:)
