Thowgla Valley Fire Truck Fund: Upper Murray Fires

Help Thowgla Valley purchase a much needed 4x4 fire fighting truck and equipment.
Thowgla Valley is located one ridge over from the township of Corryong. Over the past week the valley has been under extreme threat from bush fires with many paddocks burnt out, fences destroyed, cattle without feed and devastatingly for the locals in our valley, some homes lost.
Members of the Thowgla Valley community are desperate to be able to purchase their own fire fighting truck which would be invaluable long-term for the safety of our residents and neighbouring communities. This has been a goal of the residents of the Thowgla Valley for many years. If we had our own unit the response times to fires and flare ups would be much faster.
All funds raised would go towards the purchase of a 4x4 fire fighting truck, quick-fill pump and associated equipment, with further fundraising to establish a local fire station.

On Monday 30th December 2019, members of our valley were faced with an extreme fire situation... and they are continuing to fight dangerous and life threatening fires as we speak.
Our valley families are extremely resilient, independent and strong. They have been fighting our fires with their own personal equipment whilst other community fire fighting units have been unavailable due to the enormity of this ongoing bush fire situation.
This vital fire fighting equipment would ensure the safety of our valley members when faced with these extreme situations and help to fight these fires with a safe, rapid and more efficient approach.
The Thowgla Valley community has established a not-for-profit organisation with a bank account. All funds from this fundraiser will be transferred into this bank account. Every dollar will help. Thanks so much for supporting our community.
