Malaria is a potentially fatal infectious disease due to several species of parasites belonging to the genus Plasmodium. Malaria causes pregnant women In Togo, abortions, premature deliveries, anemia’s, and low birth weight babies. According to the World Fund and WHO, Sub-Saharan Africa accounts for a large and disproportionate share of the global burden of malaria. By 2015, 90 percent of malaria cases and 92 percent of deaths in the region were reported. Children under 5 years of age are particularly vulnerable, accounting for about 70% of all malaria deaths. The means to fight malaria exist today. Prevention is such as, sleeping under long-lasting impregnated mosquito nets, sanitizing the domestic environment, and other treatments. Insecticide-treated mosquito nets are one of the best ways to prevent mosquitoes from stinging people and infecting them with malaria. They are simple, safe and cost effective. Studies conducted by the World Health Organization confirm that insecticide-treated nets can reduce infant mortality by up to one-third in malarias areas of Africa. Together, we support Cornestonefam to achieve its goals of fighting malaria in the locality.
