Corazón support for staff and students

Dear Corazón Community,
We have a huge dilemma.
Due to the Corona crisis, we have had to close Hotel con Corazón in Oaxaca and severely cut the salaries of our staff. They receive part of their salary and are covered by health benefits, but it’s barely enough to make a living. We would love to pay all 10 of them more, but as a young social enterprise we also need to guard our finances to make sure that we survive this economic crisis.

As for our scholarship students, they don’t go to school and their schools don’t offer online classes. We still provide for them to attend the online Corazón Education Program on Saturdays, but we would like to enable all 8 students to participate in our online education throughout the week, for which they need 4G data bundles. If possible, we even want to help out 30 more students of the same marginalized village, providing data bundles so they can follow online classes and don’t get too much behind.
If we would pay for this out of our own reserves, we risk not surviving the crisis which may continue for several months. Thus not being able to make the long term social impact we aim for.
That’s why we ask for your support.
With $50 USD* you can supplement the salary of one employee for one week.
With $25 USD* you can pay online education support for one student for one month.
Our students, staff and we will be very grateful for any contribution that you are able to make.
* 50 USD = 1200 MXN = 46 EUR | 25 USD = 600 MXN = 23 EUR

Meet Eli and Moroni
Moroni
This is Moroni, one of our scholarship students. Moroni was selected for our our education program because of his motivation and potential. Moroni lives on the countryside with his parents and siblings. He himself saved money for years, to be able to attend high school in Oaxaca. We support him financially to fulfill his dream. We know that his intelligence, perseverance and eagerness will surely get him where he wants to be!
Eli
Remember Eli? Yes, that little busy bee that is always running around, making sure our hotel looks impeccable. Eli has been with us from the very beginning. She is our Queen of Cleaning. We admire her for her infinite work ethic and ever-positive attitude. Thanks to her and her colleagues of the cleaning team, you have been giving us the best review scores on cleanliness! Eli has a family of 5 to feed, plus a few dogs that guard her house in a small village close to the city.
