Our Backstory:
During COVID-19, our friends and elders have less access to foods in Coopers Pen and Danieltown, Jamacia. People are starving. Our dream is to help build community gardens in both areas to encourage food security and self-sufficiency for years to come. Community programming and education in leadership skills will help generate community participation in growing healthy foods and creating a local economy.
The Costs:
Our goal is to raise $25,000 to stimulate both communities in food security through community gardens, which is a major concern for people living in these impoverished areas. The funds will help foster community programming, leadership and drive their economy through food.
