construction of a new orphanage

Mi nombre es Malena, y tengo 23 años. Este verano trabajé de coordinadora en Arusha (Tanzania) durante 3 meses y medio; tiempo en el que tuve la fortuna de conocer a Sister Janeth, a raíz de sus labores como enfermera en un hospital. Para ser breves, Sister Janeth tuvo un accidente y se quedó en coma, al despertar cumplió su promesa: hacerse cargo de niños sin familia.

Así fundo el orfanato "Joy of God", en el cual se encuentran actualmente 22 niños, con edades comprendidas entre los 2 y los 13 años. Afortunadamente, gracias al trabajo de voluntarios y a donaciones múltiples, la escolarización y la alimentación están cubiertas. Sin embargo, no cuentan con un orfanato propio en el que quedarse; y Sister es la única persona que cuida de ellos.

Actualmente están viviendo en un edificio prestado, el cual les obligan a abandonar a principios del año que viene. Por ello, es de vital importancia conseguir el dinero para la construcción de un sitio en el que no sólo puedan quedarse, sino en el que formar su propio hogar; de lo contrario, se quedan en la calle. Los planos del orfanato ya están realizados, y tenemos el terreno en el que se iniciaría la construcción.

He tenido el privilegio de convivir con ellos durante más de tres meses, y de conocer a Sister Janeth y a esos niños como si de mi familia se tratase. Por ello, tanto yo como todos los voluntarios que han pasado por el orfanato, os pedimos que colaboréis con lo que esté en vuestras manos!

El número de registro del orfanato en el "Ministry of health, community, development, gender, elderly and childrens", regido por "The law of child act childrens homes regulations", es el 0005747, a nombre de Janeth Mosteni Ngopa.

My name is Malena, and I am 23 years old. This summer I worked as a coordinator in Arusha (Tanzania) for 3 and a half months; time in which I had the fortune to meet Sister Janeth, as a result of her work as a nurse in a hospital. To be brief, Sister Janeth had an accident and she was left in a coma, when she woke up she fulfilled her promise: to take care of children without families.

Thus, she founded the "Joy of God" orphanage, in which there are currently 22 children, aged between 2 and 13 years. Fortunately, thanks to the work of volunteers and multiple donations, schooling and food are covered. However, they do not have an orphanage of their own to stay in; and Sister is the only person who takes care of them.

They are currently living in a borrowed building, which they are being forced to vacate early next year. Therefore, it is vitally important to get the money to build a place where they can not only stay, but where they can make their own home; Otherwise, they stay on the street. The plans for the orphanage are already done, and we have the land where construction would begin.

I have had the privilege of living with them for more than three months, and of knowing Sister Janeth and those children as if they were my family. For this reason, both I and all the volunteers who have passed through the orphanage, ask you to collaborate with whatever is in your hands!
