145 mile ride to make crew more accessible to all

The goal is for us (Jack Haley and Jai Twyman) to ride our bicycles 145 miles from Concord, NH all the way down to Newport, RI. The point of this ride being to raise money for the crew team, But not for tangible items. We would like to raise money so that people less fortunate than us and our fellow teammates can join our frankly, amazing team.  Now that we have recently been appointed captains of the boys team we think that it is only fitting that we give back to the team that has given us so much. Our goal is to raise 20 dollars for every mile we ride (10 for each of us). That would bring the total to $2,900 for the entire ride. While crew has been an awesome experience for the both of us, we realize that it is far too expensive for the vast majority of students to enjoy. If we are able to complete the ride and raise a significant amount of money the program will create a separate fund dedicated to helping kids from lower income families join crew, and hopefully diversifying the sport as a whole.
