The Concerned Citizens of Wilmington thank you for your past support in what continues to be a lengthy planning and zoning battle. While we recognize society’s need for quality addiction treatment, we also know the proposed project at 362 Middlesex Avenue was never a suitable location.

Our best chance to end this issue lies in our current case being tried in land court. In order to depose the necessary witnesses and initiate legal filings in the advancement of our solid case, we need to raise significant funds ($10,000.00+). Our legal experts need to effectively fight on our behalf, and many abutters have already been contributing personal funds throughout this ordeal.

If every like-minded resident could respond to this appeal, we’d be more likely to prevail in our land court case against the Town. If we
win in land court, the detox at 362 Middlesex is forevermore a dead issue. If we lose in land court, Bettering LLC can return in 2 years to start this
process all over again! Can we count on your support?

Would you be willing to make a special donation of $25, $40 $50, $75 (or give what you can afford) to help us continue the fight in land court that will once and for all end the possibility of a for-profit detox facility being built at 362 Middlesex Avenue? The residents of North Wilmington, MA have been working tirelessly to make sure a “for profit” detoxification center is not placed in a densely populated residential area. “It’s the right idea, but the WRONG location”!

At a special town meeting held December 15, 2017, residents voted overwhelmingly to designate all medical facilities to industrial like areas. Unfortunately, the proposer of this project filed prior to this vote to be grandfathered under the old by- law, allowing him to proceed with his plan.

We, as several neighborhoods, strongly feel such a business would bring a myriad of serious issues for residents and small businesses in the area, and put some of our most vulnerable residents at risk and limit their ability to access their community safely.

We have started this Go Fund Me account to assist in our fight for our neighborhoods! Monies generated will go towards expenses of signs, flyers, advertisements, consults with professionals, etc.   
We would be grateful for any donation you might be able to afford.

We won the denial of the Special Permit, now we need to fight the proposers appeal, citing ADA violation.
The fight is not OVER!

Please attend the Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting currently scheduled for Wed., Feb 27, 2019 at 7p at Town Hall!!
