As some of you may know, my best friend (Ander “Sage” Harris)’s father, Kevin Harris, has been ill for some time. He sadly passed away on April 8th after an almost 9 year uphill battle with cancer. He has always been Sage’s only parent. She took him to his chemo weekly and spent all of her free time outside of work caring for and loving him. As someone who has been lucky enough to call her my best friend in the world, it has been wildly painful to watch her deal with this grief. She has not been supported through this heartbreaking loss by her work place & has been left with the need for financial support while tending to the business of death. Losing your only parent is a pain so heavy and so isolating. I am making this go fund me to call on our community to support her and her little family through this period. Sage has always been an incredible and devoted friend, a true villager. She did a beautiful job caring for her amazing father in his final days. It’s time for her to feel supported by her village too. I am a believer that grief should be shared in community & Sage deserves to be loved and supported by our community. Whether it’s a few dollars, a repost, a meal, a love note, or a prayer, please don’t let my sweet girl forget how loved she is while she deals with the transition into a tragic reality without her papa.
