Volunteer Firefighter down on his luck

Donation protected
My brother is down on his luck. He is one of the hardest working men I've ever known but due to a run of bad luck has been laid off from his job before Christmas, he is applying for over 30 jobs a day but things are slow this time of year.  My brother has three young children and he has eaten through his savings already with Christmas, rent and living expenses.  My brother is a very proud man, he has been a volunteer fire fighter for nearly a decade in the Hunter Valley and while working full time often on 12 hour rosters would volunteer the majority of his time off volunteering with the RFS and still does, he loves the RFS and feels the obligation to assist our communities to save life and property from horrendous bush fires.  He's buried our mother from cancer and our beloved stepfather from a short hard fought battle with a brain tumour only a few short years after we buried our mum.  He has been exposed to so much heart break and trauma in his lifetime already, he has been first responder to MVA casualties and fatalities, he has been first responder to completed suicides while working as retained fire fighter with FRNSW, he has watched families homes burn or wash away in floods when volunteering with the RFS, these are just a few. And now his embarrassment and depression over being out of work when he's always prided himself on his work ethic breaks my heart.  Most recently he was battling the fires in Taree telling me he felt an immense sense of heart break watching how badly those fires effected the Taree community. He continues to volunteer his time to the RFS battling the fires raging across NSW while still trying to secure full time employment so he can pay his rent for the house he rents so his boys have their own space when they are with their dad and so he can just afford to live, he has never been on the dole or newstart but has signed up now however that also takes time to commence.  I guess I've started this page for those who are very fortunate may spare $5 or $10 or any $$ as every little bit helps to help to pay the rent, put fuel in the little second hand car and food on the table until he's successful in securing a full time job, we don't have much family and I've eaten into my savings also to assist him to pay the rent so my nephews have that space with their dad. He's also my hero, plain and simple. *edited 09 Jan 20 - his little second hand car has just broken down, he now has no car to get to job interviews or to the fire station. As soon as he secures full time employment I will close the go fund me page.  He's a very proud, embarrassed, hard working Aussie bloke who has always put community above self and now he has fallen on hard times so I'm hoping possibly the community might be able to help in the short term to see him through this tough time.  Thank You for your time.
