Community Defibrillator and External Box.

I am looking to raise funds to purchase a defibrillator and external box to house the defibrillator which would be accessible 24 hours a day. I would like to place it at the shop or the chemist at the top of Radcliffe Road, Darcy Lever. At Christmas 2012 my husband and father to my children died suddenly at just 39! Neil was a wonderful husband and dad and we feel that through raising awareness and placing defibrillators in public places we can hopefully continue to save lives. We know we have saved lives already through the work we have done which gives us comfort to know something positive has come from such a terrible loss. We have with the support of family and friends raised funds over the years and placed defibrillators in and around Little Lever - St Matthews Church House in Little Lever, Queens Hotel in Bradley Fold and St Matthews school in Little Lever A defibrillator is a life saving device which can be used to help someone who needs it and you do not have to have any training to use this equipment as it tells you exactly what to do in an emergency situation. Using a defibrillator on someone who is in cardiac arrest can mean the difference to them living or dying. Delivering CPR and a shock within 3-5 minutes after someone has suffered a cardiac arrest increases their survival chance from 6% to 74%. However, delaying treatment results in a decrease of 10% per minute for the victim's survival chance. My family and other families have suffered enormously through losing our loved ones and not having a defibrillator close by and would not wish such suffering on anyone else, therefore I am asking everyone to help by donating what ever you can to help raise what we need to buy our community life saving defibrillator. ‘Together we can make difference!’
