Community Broad Street Market Workers Relief

Donation protected
**7/15 Update: we are raising our goal just a bit to $15,000 after spending this week talking firsthand with the BSM workers and hearing what this relief will mean to them. We could not do this without all of you, and we hope this extra push can secure some peace of mind for the hard workers behind the Broad Street Market in this time of uncertainty. We thank you all and will continue to keep you updated throughout the whole process.

If you live in Harrisburg, you're familiar with the bustle at Third and Verbeke every Saturday morning. Rain or shine, we all trek out for our morning coffee and bite, where we can't help but run into at least two people we know and get sidetracked by the dogs that insist on a scratch.

In the moments immediately after the fire, we all saw the headlines reminding us that the Broad Street Market is the oldest continuously-running market in the US, and yesterday that came to a halt for some.

This fundraiser is for the workers - the backbone of the Broad Street Market. Yesterday, workers were planning to return to another weekend of serving the community they love. Today, they look at boarded-up windows and caution tape.

We're all carrying the grief around the events that happened - the community, the vendors, and the workers. On behalf of the workers of the Broad Street Market, we are here to request your help that will be delivered directly and evenly to the workers at the close of this fundraiser. Donations to this fund will ensure the workers that have provided us with so many fond memories can continue to support themselves while their workplace is under reconstruction, because without the workers, there is no Broad Street Market.

Here is a quick form for workers to complete to be added to the distribution list when the fundraiser closes - please share if you know a worker impacted by the fire: Application link

On behalf of the workers and the organizers behind this fundraiser, thank you for any support you're able to offer.

*Donations will be evenly split between workers who apply. Employment verification will be requested on an as needed basis.
