Dear Community Members :

As  we approach the end of 2020 , we reflect on  the multiple challenges we all have faced and how we have continued delivering impactful projects in our communities.  We are grateful for the support and commitment of many creators, doers and dreamers who believe in the work we do every day and had made it possible.

Today, we are reaching out to you , our communities, seeking support so we can continue doing the work of community and peace building through the different programs we have developed.

With the resources we are able to get through this campaign , we envision to continue  our Community Arts Programs :  Our World of A Thousand Colours,  Youth Photography Project, Happening Multicultural Community Activations.

Community Arts Residence in Latin America & The Caribbean.

We also envision to complete the following projects

Doves of Peace : Community Arts (Online and MailArt) and Installation

Ties to Community : Crocheting Project , aiming to create 100 large crochet mandalas which will be installed at a Park in the City of Toronto.

We want to share with you   ART-WALK  SidewalkArt  Project.  With this initiative we use play and public arts as a way to support our communities in dealing with the current lockdown while finding ways to connect.  The Artwalk is a series of sidewalk installations  placed at a neighbourhood at the West of Toronto. Families can interact with the installation.

About MUSE Arts:

MUSE ARTS works to increase support, access and visibility to immigrant, refugee and newcomer artists and their communities. At MUSE Arts we develop Community Art Programs that integrate Arts and Social Justice. We have been successful in developing an art program for children living in shelters; “OUR-WORLD-OF- A-THOUSAND-COLOURS ". This is our way to give our knowledge for the Arts and give back to the communities that are also facing barriers. The Stories We Share , a series of creative writing workshops for refugee and newcomer. These programs are funded by OAC and TAC. MUSE ARTS also promotes the love for Arts and Literature among all children, the practice of arts in all its forms as a way to give voice to an individual’s experiences, dreams and hopes; supporting a person’s healing journey and as route to seek justice and common well-being. We create Community Murals locally and internationally. We create platforms for community engagement in order to bring into the neighbourhoods #MUralArt that reflects the collective voice of the community, currently we are in partnership with the City of Toronto through StreetArt Program facilitating the creation of 2 murals at Earlscourt Park, Alex Usquiano , Muse Arts’ Artistic Director, leads these processes.
