I am Jennefer Moore from Aurora, Colorado. On early Monday morning, October 9, 2017, my parents, Chuck and Marjie Collins, lost their home and all of their belongings, in the California Cascade Fire, burning in Loma Rica, California.
It has been such a shock to our family, as it is the home they have resided in for 41 years. They started with a bare piece of property in the 1970's which through much hard work they turned in to a home. They raised children there, welcomed friends and family and worked and shared in the community, Their home on the hill held many precious memories for so many of our family members.
During this time of loss and grief, they are starting to look for direction in how to move forward. They are reeling still from the shock, and so many of you have asked how you can help monetarily, and even have asked me to set up this page for you to have a place to show your love and compassion and support in this difficult time. The money raised here will bridge the gap and provide necessities while they work through the recovery process.
Please give as you feel led, and most especially, pray for them as they sort through information and make decisions about their future. As a family, we have been overwhelmed by your concern and compassion. It has meant so much to my sister, Beth, and I.
My sister, Beth Fagundes, of Paso Robles, California and I, are setting up this fund for our parents to access personally, for whatever their immediate and future needs are in moving forward. Immediate necessities such as clothing and sundries, temporary housing costs, meals, transportation expenses to and from the property as needed, and then future needs such as permanent housing and working to recover the property.
We appreciate each and every one of you so much and the love you are showing and will continue to show to our family. We can't thank you enough for your generosity and love. We hold it dear and I know my parents would never ask for help, so I appreciate the idea to do this from so many of you, and again, it just means the world to Beth and I to have such an outpouring of love.
