Adopting from Ethiopia!

Hi! We are Drew and Kait. Welcome to our journey to bring home our baby from Ethiopia!
We were married in Detroit in July of 2013 and spent time serving as missionaries overseas in Nairobi, Kenya. Drew worked at a school as a teacher and Kait served as the head of a children's home for orphaned Kenyans. We had to leave Kenya suddenly due to a family emergency, but our passion for Africa and the people has never gone away.
Currently, we live outside of Ann Arbor, MI where Drew still works as a teacher and is in the Army National Guard and Kait works as an ICU Nurse.
Adopting has always been on our hearts, and it only made sense to adopt from Eastern Africa after having lived there. After looking at several adoption agencies, we found a great organization and started the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia.
So far, we have been saving and using our own money to cover the expenses involved. However, as many know, adoption is a very expensive endeavor. Our hope is to find people to partner with us in bringing our child home from Ethiopia, financially, as we continue to save ourselves. Along with the money we are continuing to set aside, the money raised here will help us in covering our referral acceptance fee and our flights to and from Ethiopia when we pick up our baby.
We have put in significant financial resources thus far and will continue to do so, but we are hoping that other adoptive families that may have had help in their journey might want to pay it forward as we start our journey!
Our journey has only just begun and we would love for you to be a part of it. Finances might be tight in your life too, but prayer is just as important to us, if not more, than finances. In addition to this site, we will be blogging throughout our journey as well.
