Colin Hascup Eagle Scout Project
Tax deductible
Colin Hascup is organizing this fundraiser for his Eagle Scout project to benefit the Allendale Celery Farm on behalf of the Fyke Nature Association.
Hi, my name is Colin Hascup, and I have been a Boy Scout for 11 years. I am currently working towards the rank of Eagle. My Eagle project is to install an informational sign with a viewing area at the Allendale Celery Farm. I will also be doing some trail and plant restoration. The Celery Farm is a very valuable and significant historical landmark in Allendale. Through time, it has been a Native American gathering place, an operational onion & celery farm and, now, a designated nature preserve. It is currently an important habitat for many animal species, including a significant number of migratory birds. Many people come to visit the Celery Farm on a daily basis and share in the natural beauty it provides.
I will provide and install an informational sign at the entrance to the Celery Farm giving the history and talking about the wildlife the celery farm has to offer. All of the funds donated will be used to build the sign, restore nearby trails and construct a viewing area. I will also plant an oak tree and restore nearby native plants. Any leftover funds will be donated to the Fyke Nature Association to be used in its work toward maintaining and improving The Celery Farm.
