Coast - 2 - Coast - 4 - the Simon Communities

On Mid-Winter’s day, December 21st, my wife Jacinta and I are going to attempt the near impossible in order to raise funds for the Simon Communities. Starting with a 5 am swim at Salthill, we then propose to cycle 235 Kilometers to the 40 foot in Dún Laoghaire, where if all goes according to plan we will arrive shortly before midnight for our second sea swim of the day. Our only support, apart from our bikes, will be each other.

Throughout Ireland the Simon Communities provides the best possible care, accommodation and support for people experiencing homelessness, or the threat of homelessness. Simon tackles the root cause of homelessness, promotes innovative responses and urges the Government to fulfil their commitments. On an annual basis Simon delivers support and services to over 13,000 individuals and families currently experiencing or are at risk of homelessness. The Simon Communities provide these services right across Ireland. 

With Christmas upon us Jacinta and I very much appreciate our situation, both physically, mentally and emotionally to enable us to attempt this crazy idea. We recognise that not everybody is fortunate enough to be in this space so to speak. We often think of people who are less fortunate in their lives - for whatever reason. To this end we would be most grateful and most appreciative for any donation recieved, large or small.
