Support - No New Development In Carmel Mountain Ranch
The citizen-founded Development Opposition Committee opposes development of the closed Carmel Mountain Ranch Golf Course.
We are a 100% volunteer organization with over 150 community members who desire to keep the closed golf course as open space. Carmel Mountain Ranch is a master-planned community. The community was completed many years ago and is completely built out. There is no room for increased development. Additional residential construction would cause traffic problems, overcrowding of schools and would be taxing to existing infrastructure.
The golf course property has agricultural zoning. We fully support the agricultural designation to prevent development and we are working hard to use this to the community's advantage. We can reimagine the property (with its current agricultural zoning) as a winery, a park, natural open space, organic farming, walking trails, and any combination.
We need the funds immediately to hire legal experts, land use consultants and zoning experts to help fight future development.
All gifts will help protect the community’s interests. We appreciate your consideration. It may be a long battle and we are committed. In the end, any remaining funds will be used for community-wide celebration.
