CLOVER’S TRIP TO TANZANIA (with Camps International) !

Hey :) I’m Clover Bailey and I am looking to raise money towards supporting my month long trip to Tanzania in SUMMER 2024 ! This trip will involve me working on community projects and living and working with the Maasai tribe. When being provided this opportunity.. I had to look further into it, as travelling is something I would love my future to be full of and beginning this at just the age of seventeen is unreal and I could not be more grateful !!! Something that did make me question my place on the trip was the cost… therefore I am willing to push myself to fundraise as much as I can to enable me to achieve this amazing opportunity :)

Myself and my Dad have planned a mini expedition, ensuring it is local and accessible to inspire others, showing them how much is to offer on the doorstep. This will also be challenging myself and putting myself out of my comfort zone. I am aiming to walk a total distance of 24km from Kington to Whitney-on-Wye (old toll bridge) - taking in part of Offa’s Dyke path. In the same day, we will collect a canoe and commence our three day canoe expedition, covering a distance of 106km. We will be culminating at Symonds Yat.

Expedition Itinerary: 25th - 27th May 2024

24.1 km walk from Kington - Whitney-on-Wye

Collect canoe and paddle 20.92km from Whitney-on-Wye - Byecross

45.06 km paddle from Byecross - Hoarwithy

40.87 km paddle from Hoarwithy - Symonds Yat

We will be averaging 11 hour days of physical activity - long days and therefore including 2 overnight stays on different campsites.

We will be making sure to be self-sufficent throughout our mini expedition - only carrying what we need.
