Clay (Steve) Perkins Innocent Black Man Killed

Stephen Clay Perkins also known as Steve to many people was unalived by Officers of Decatur Alabama Police Department.

Steve was born in Hilsboro, Alabama January 4th, 1984. He was a family man, girl dad, proudly raising two daughters, 14 & 7 years old. He was a devoted husband, gym enthusiast and a hard working employee at JM Smuckers pet food manufacturer.

Steve dreamed of one day opening his own gym where he could continue to pursue his love of fitness while providing a safe space for community growth amd development. He kept his nose clean telling his close friends he only harbored a single fear as a black man- being killed by the police.

Resting in preparation for work, September 29th, 2023, Steve was ambushed by Decatur police officers while his vehicle was being wrongfully repossessed by a tow company. Policemen left steve family traumatized and with no understandimg of why their love one endured this horrific unwarranted murder with seven gunshot wounds to the body.

Clay leaves a loving wife, children and family to cherish. It saddens us to know that in 2023, an innocent black life was taken by the system.

The family seeks justice and answers with a call to action by officials to Terminate the officers, Arrest the officers, Prosecute the officers, and change the policies.

As the family seeks justice for Steve, this site offers an opportunity to help aide and comfort his family during this difficult time. There is no dollar that could ever value the life of Stephen (Steve) Clay Perkins. However, it provides an opportunity for people to stand for injustice and remember Steve Life Matters!

If America desires to aide injustice, America will desire to center Black Lives!
