Miss Clarice's Hurricane Recovery


My partner Patrick's mother, Clarice, is a 75 year young woman who thought she already lived through a great flood.  The family lost most of their belongings in the June 2001 flood. They rebuilt and have lived in this home in the years since.

In the days before Hurricane Harvey hit, Clarice was moved to Patrick's sister's home.  Thankfully, they were both  safe, but sadly, Clarice's home was once again ravaged by water.  She now has to replace everything in the home including living room furniture, beds, electronics and kitchen appliances.

The family is just getting started with the removal of the water-logged furnishing and it will take weeks/months for them to get the house refurbished and water/mold free.  

Clarice lives on a limited income and is dependent upon her children for her overall care.

The family is in great need as they anticipate that insurance support will be minimal and getting Miss Clarice back in her home as soon as possible is their greatest hope.
