Help Julie fight cancer
Donation protected
This past week my sister, Julie Capriotti, celebrated her 38th birthday by receiving her first round of chemotherapy at University of Pennsylvania, marking the beginning of her fight against an invasive, metastatic cancer. Shock cannot even begin to describe the emotions we are all feeling as we are all still coming to terms with this diagnosis and plan for recovery.
As a single Mom to four great kids, it’s no wonder that Julie always manages to be smiling. Her laughter and finding the joy in any situation is contagious. Her children are all such a beautiful representation of Julie. Kaylie embodies Julie’s driven nature and strength, and has just completed her first year at University on a Softball and academic scholarship. Allison inherited her mom’s love of cooking, and in her early teens is already an animal rights advocate. Lauren with her kindness and sweet nature and Michael with Julie’s eyes and her humor are both Passionate about video gaming, their friends and school; and needless to say, Julie could not be prouder of all of them.
Aside from her children, Julie’s love language has always been cooking, and her recipes are the star of family gatherings. She is a Chef at the Station Tap House in Doylestown, and there is no where she would rather be than making her clients happy with good food. She is lucky to have a wonderful management team and supportive staff surrounding her, and loves her career.
As a family, we have started to form our plan, and support team to help fight this disease alongside Julie. And although this diagnosis is scary, she is young and strong. During her recovery it will be crucial to have a fund to assist with the inevitable medical costs, lost wages and her children’s schooling that will all be occurring in tandem with her treatment. The family has been inundated with kindness and offers of support, so we want to provide an easy, helpful way to play a role in Julie’s recovery.
Any gifts given during this journey are incredibly appreciated, and just knowing there is a financial cushion to offset some of the future hardship will help ease a little bit of the tension during this hard time. We are looking forward to rallying as a community and family to hold Julie up during treatment and in her recovery! Our parents, family, and Julie’s loving boyfriend Chris have played pivotal roles in keeping Julie in good spirits during this time. We know Jesus has his arms around Julie right now as we are trying to embody his strength and belief.
I cannot even explain how devastating it feels to watch my sister be dealt this new life path. Please leave any words of encouragement in the comments, as we know all our lives have inevitably been touched by cancer in one way or another. Our family thanks you, and if it’s not too much to ask, please take some time to pray to our Lord and Savior for Julie’s full recovery. We know he’s cushioning this blow for us right now by walking alongside all of us during this journey.
