Cindy is a single mom with three beautiful kids and the last person who would consider putting it out into the world that she needs some help.
Cindy works full time growing a “green” commercial and residential cleaning business. She is currently at the crucial point of having to decide whether to make it grow (by adding employees) or to find a job that will earn her the income she needs to raise her 3 kids on her own, with little assistance from her ex. Growing a business is difficult when you are chasing every penny to put food on the table for your kids, and she really needs some help.
This Go-Fund-Me idea was sparked by a call from her last week to ask for my advice. She was now two months behind on her car payment and they were threatening repossession. To take some weight off her shoulders, I paid her back payments to save her from the weekly payment program they set her on (almost doubling her monthly payment).
I really started thinking about her difficult situation and decided to reach out to her sister to discuss a Go-Fund-Me page (with family support) to try and give Cindy a real helping hand, a lift up, especially at Christmastime when you need it the most. She is a wonderful mother and dear friend, and she's devoted to raising her children as independent, free thinking, intelligent gifts to society.
It takes an army, a village at the very least, to raise kids, especially as a single mother. I hope each and every one of you as you read this post, are willing to play a part, big or small, in helping someone who really needs it. As part of this campaign, I vow to help Cindy prioritize, organize and make a solid plan that will allow for her to be fully independent and without the need for child support.
