Christy's Recovery

I am setting up this GoFundMe for Christy Carr who is like a second mom to me. When I think of Christy, the words servant hearted, genuine, kind, loving, giving, and just plain fun come to mind. She loves to celebrate others, and anyone that knows her has probably experienced this in one way or another. Being so close to the family I have had so many people ask how they can help and I felt like this would be a practical way to help! 

For anyone that doesn't know what happened, Christy, who lives in a duplex, was hanging out on the second floor outdoor patio with two of her close friends and neighbor when she tripped over uneven wood boards. She then fell to catch herself on the iron railing.  The wood and screws that the railing was set in were rotted and gave way causing her to fall 15 feet onto the solid ground. Christy was unconscious for 45 minutes and rushed to the ER. There they found out she had 5 broken ribs, a broken hip, fractured femur, fractured sacrum, fractured shoulder, and a severe concussion. Her right side was essentially crushed. Christy spent 8 days in the hospital recovering and having surgery on her hip/femur to fuse it back together.  Now that Christy is home, she is still recovering slowly, but strongly with 24 hour care. Christy, being self-employed as a realtor had a very expensive insurance plan last year in which she recently dropped and was planning to get onto a new insurance plan in October of this year. Due to the untimeliness of the accident, she was without insurance. Thankfully the owner of the duplex has home owner's insurance and Christy is working to get some of her bills covered.  Although, the owner has insurance, the process of dealing with the insurance company is a daunting process and could take months for the money to come through and the medical bills will not stop coming during that time. Christy is starting physical therapy in 4 weeks and it will cost at total of $400 a week on top of the hospital expenses. She will also potentially have to get surgery on her shoulder in about 4 weeks if it does not heal properly. Being a realtor, she is also going to have to be almost fully out of work for the unforeseen future. 
This money would help her pay for her physical therapy sessions in the upcoming weeks and the medical bills that are already coming in until insurance is figured out and until she is able to return to work. 

I know so many people have been asking how to help. This is one great practical way we can support her through this. However, sending an encouraging text or message on here that I can relay to her is just as impactful as she has been very overwhelmed! Above all, please be praying for Christy... her healing, strength, and her family that is helping her every step of the way.
