Christmas Charity Fund Appeal

Donation protected
Hi Everyone my name is Gerard Sweetman and and i am the LGBT+ Health Support worker in Clonmel South Tipperary. We support the LGBT+ community through one to one support, support groups and linking with other services along with social activites and also provide lgbt training. The project is funded through HSE social inclusion and has been in operation sicne 2016.
Each year our LGBT group members and myself choose a charity to raise funds for. Over the last 2 years we have held a table quiz and  a shoebox appeal for two worthy charities. This year things are a little diffferent due to covid19. and as we cannot hold events or fundraisers we have decided to hold a Go Fund me and collection of non perishable goods for not one but  3 chosen charities

They are Clonmel Soup Kitchen
C-Saw Clonmel
and CCRC Hampers for disadvantaged families due to Covid 19.
This year for everyone has been a tough year due to the pandemic and speaking to the charities there is a rise of families and individuals  in need of support more than ever.
Please see below a piece of each charity and the work they do in supporting others.
Our LGBT group members will collect non perishable foods and toiletries and make hampers to donate and the remainder of the funds will be divided between each charity
No matter how small if you can donate it would be much appreciated by all the 3 causes and will help them in supporting and giving families in need locally in Tipperary some support with food for christmas.
Thank you so much for your support and it means so much to us and to the charities. and to the families and those in need.

 CCRC Hampers for Disadvantaged families,
As a charity partner of “Food Cloud” and “Neighbourly”, Clonmel Community Resource Centre supports approximately 25 families and individuals on a weekly basis by diverting unsold fresh food daily from Tesco, Dunnes and Marks and Spencer. We collect, sort and distribute to people who need a helping hand. For Christmas 2020 we would like to supplement the fresh food with a hamper each of non-perishable dry goods that can be stored. We are therefore appealing for donations of non- perishable items OR a contribution for the purchase of this type of stock.
We have found that it is mostly the basic items that we would put in our presses and use every day that are most needed. Any leftover items will be used up as part of our weekly donation to those in need.

All donations will be gratefully received. Thank you

Clonmel Soup Kitchen
