Christmas blessings for a very needy sweet lady!

(This story is in a private group in order to keep from having people come out of the woodwork asking me to help them also - because I know through work - it would happen and I wish I could help them all - but for now He's calling me to share Sonja with you so please do not share this link on social media.  If you know of someone that would like to contribute, please let me know and I can invite them to this group.)

Many of you know that I work in a minstry to help provide food, medical, dental, eyeglasses, utilities and much more to families in need.  I try not to get emotionally wrapped up in to many of the people I come in contact, although I have an opportunity to build some sweet friendships and love on, pray and encourage some people that I connect a little deeper with.  A couple of years ago God placed a sweet lady, Sonja(77yrs old), in my path that I just could not  stop thinking about her.  Over time, we came to know each other well, very well - so much that she means ALOT to me.  I was thinking over the last few days how many difficult things she and her son have been through over the last couple of years and I knew that God was nudging me to do something about it.  I've been able to direct her to many resources and provide some much needed assistance, but it just doesnt seem she ever catches a break - there is ALWAYS a need.  I could go into so much detail about her being a breast cancer survivor, a heart attack survivor, divorce, death & poverty....and if any of you desire more infomation or want to befriend her, PLEASE don't hesitate to reach out to me and I'm happy to share her info with you.  She currently has a son and his family living with her in her small 1 bedroom apartment in Greenville because they were evicted a couple of weeks ago because he lost a job that he had just gotten and couldn't afford their rent.  The needs for them all are great - and yes, they've made mistakes, mismanaged their finances...made poor choices, but I have been burdened by the fact that I have to....I'm no different.  After the eviction, her son had a mental breakdown and was hospitalized for several days and is getting weekly care to help him work through the challenges he has faced over the last couple of years which also included major illnesses.  For now, I'm starting with a goal to at least help cover their rent($595) for a couple of months, some gas for the car and if we get additional monies I'd like to see about helping with some badly needed car repairs before the 1 car they have quits on them.  My plan is that the balance recieved will be visible to you and I will distribute to them and let you know exactly how much we distribute and what for.  Their basic food needs are covered for the most part, but should additional food be needed we can supplement that also.  Her son started a job last week and if he can get back on his feet, then it will provide some relief to both families.  Most of all - pray.  Pray for Sonja as she trys to stay strong in her faith and love for the Lord and that discouragment will flee.  Pray for her son and family to get back on their feet and be able to get a place of their own.  And pray for God to just surround them with His love and that they seek after Him in all things.  Thank you much!
