Christine Anne Lambooy - #KmsforChris

In loving memory of Christine Anne Lambooy | 20.11.54 - 15.2.23

No words can articulate this heartbreak… we miss you so much Mum.

Your kindness, strength, selflessness, love and relentless passion for life was an infectious blessing you gifted to those who had the privilege of knowing you. You were a mother, wife, aunt, mentor, friend and proud doctor. You dedicated your life to helping others… and did so so incredibly selflessly, even from the confines of a wheelchair and typing on an iPad as means of communication.

Parkinson’s robbed you of so much over the past 10 years… It started with tremors and slowly took away so many simple pleasures like walking, driving, gardening, travelling, and swimming. In the end, it took away your ability to even speak/communicate or move...

Parkinson’s is an incredibly cruel disease… but you carried it with such grace and fought with incredible strength and courage till the very end. What a privilege it was to learn so much from you… you taught us the incredible power of hope, something you held onto for your whole journey of Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s does not discriminate and I would not wish Parkinson’s upon anyone. And in tribute to my mum, our family would like to raise funds to find a cure for this god-forsaken disease.

Sadly, we are not alone in being a bystander to a loved one who has been impacted by Parkinson’s.

Every day, 38 Australians are diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

We aim to raise $38,000, $1000 for every Aussie that was diagnosed with Parkinson’s just today.

Movement is something that was taken from mum... and something most of us take for granted on a daily basis... To celebrate our ability to move, we (Lambooy family) will be participating in the Sunshine Coast Half Marathon on the 13th of August. We encourage everyone and anyone to join us in raising funds for finding a cure for Parkinson's and continue the hope mum so tightly held onto. Please use #KmsforChris

Mum fought this disease with everything she had while she was alive, and we are going to continue this fight for her now.

We will never forget you mum. We love you xx
