Christina Daub Kornegay

Hello, my name is Reuben Kornegay, our family is humbly asking for help to raise money for funeral expenses for our loving Mother who passed away peacefully at my sister's home after losing her battle with multiple cancer diagnoses. Christina battled cancer for over 25 years. She went through countless treatments to prolong her life. She was told she only had a matter of days left to live, but because her wish to pass at home came to fruition through the collaborative efforts of medical professionals and family, she lived another 2 months by the grace of God and because of the strong woman she always was. Because of all the love and care she received at home, she passed on peacefully. Her battle came to an end on Tuesday August 15th , 2023.

Mother Christina was not only our mother she was the loving wife and Partner to my Father (David Paul Kornegay) a retired United States Army vet (His backbone), a stand up pillar in her community, a nurturing mother like care-giver to many children in our neighborhood, a Bookkeeper for the El-Yah-hua temple Church that my father founded back in the early 80's and 90's.

In our difficult times, both our father and grandmother passed suddenly and it took a toll on our family and now our only surviving parent has left my siblings and me, along with nephews and nieces and close family friends. We would love to give her a dignified burial and have her rest at peace with our father and grandmother in the same cemetery. Our Grandmother, (Melchora Daub) and Our Father (David Paul Kornegay). Unfortunately, due to financial hardship, we may not be able to have her buried in the same cemetery to rest with her late husband and mother. Our hope is, that we can raise enough money to make this possible, so that our family and others can visit her and feel at peace that they are reunited in their afterlife.

Christina Kornegay was a beautiful soul, she was always helping and thinking of others. She was an exemplary woman who undoubtedly left a lasting impact on anyone's life that was blessed enough to be graced by her presence. She was a petite little woman with a huge heart of gold.

In her loving memory, any donation is much appreciated. We hope to have this resolved so she can be at peace and laid to rest with dignity. Funeral arrangements are yet to be made. Any donations exceeding the target will be put towards attaining gravestones for her late husband and mother or other funeral expenses.
