Christian's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
This GoFundMe has been created on behalf of the Lorenzoni/Jordan Family. All donations will go towards Christian's medical bills and rehabilitation costs. After speaking with doctors, our goal is for Christian to be admitted to the post-acute TBI Rehab program where he will likely need to spend an extended amount of time. Unfortunately, because Christian is still considered a foreign citizen from when he moved to the United States as a young boy, he does not qualify for government benefits like Medicaid or Social Security. Based on this information and discussing the cost that is not covered by insurance our family is humbly asking for any support.
On Friday, January 14th Christian Lorenzoni, 26, was on his way home from work and involved in a life-threatening scooter accident. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and has been in the ICU since the accident. Christian is currently in a coma, but doctors remain optimistic and feel there is a good chance of recovery with the proper rehabilitation. His family is dedicated to making that happen.
Christian is 26 years old and graduated from Highland Park High School in 2014. He played football and was a captain on the varsity wrestling team. Christian went on to study and graduate from Texas Tech University. Christian is currently a manager at Tyler’s clothing store in Dallas. Christian is incredibly close to his family, especially his little sister.
Christian is loved by many and the outpouring of love, prayers, and support has been overwhelming and so appreciated! His family asks you to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers through this time. After over two weeks in the ICU and extreme life-saving measures, we know Christian’s recovery will be costly as the doctors have begun talking through options. Any donation towards that will be greatly appreciated! We will continue to update this page as his healing continues.
The full details of his progress and healing thus far are detailed below.
- Jan 14th: Accident Occurs. Christian has facial fractures, a dislocated hip, broken collarbone, and pinched arteries limiting blood flow to his brain. He was immediately taken to the hospital where the doctors took him into surgery.
- The team of doctors decided to keep him sedated in hopes of minimizing movement to avoid any further brain damage, but were encouraged and remained positive due to his age and strength.
- Jan 18th: The cat scan taken showed no spinal cord injury and although the MRI taken the next morning showed significant brain damage, they were optimistic about his recovery and progress.
- Jan 21st: Christian was trying to wake up, was opening his eyes, following commands of the doctor, and recognized his dad. All great signs!
- Jan 25th: The doctors performed a tracheostomy and he was able to begin breathing on his own.
- Jan 31st: Christian has been weened off of sedation and is breathing on his own, however is now in a coma. Discussion and plans for rehabilitation have begun, but he will remain at the hospital until further notice.
- Feb 2nd: The Power of Prayer! Christian completely opened his eyes while his father, Jeff, was taking a video for his little sister. He was trying so hard to respond to Jeff and the nurses said he is fighting like crazy!
Praying for a miracle and that he rests and wakes up when it is his time!
