Christmas Appeal to support vulnerable families

The HABS Family Support Team is an award-winning Local Schools Partnership that consists of 21 local primary and secondary schools that employ a team of highly trained Family Support workers, and counsellors, to support our local schools and the community offering a diverse package of support from counselling, to working on projects in the community to help improve the lives of families living within Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Turnford, Wormley and Cheshunt.

The available support on offer is open to all families whose children attend the partnership schools and ranges from parenting classes to family support that encompasses a wide range of issues including; mental health, domestic abuse, emotional well-being, debt, bereavement and loss, counselling, therapeutic coaching, financial support and other complex issues. Our sister company Strength in Mind also offers affordable high-level mental health support to the local community

It's that time of year again when we start collecting all the wonderful donations from local individuals and businesses to help with our Christmas appeal, to give to local families that will struggle to provide a Christmas celebration for their family, without our help.

This appeal is now in its 10th year of supporting the community and last year, with everyone's support. Last year we delivered Christmas sacks to over 312 local children. Supplied gas and electricity to over 110 families totalling £2,120 and supplied a Festive meal to over 100 families totalling £5,300.00.
